Did he, I wonder. It took him very little time to realize what had
really happened. I think maybe he always wanted to believe in Sirius.
jenny from ravenclaw wondered what would have happened if Lupin
had told Dumbledore about Sirius being an Animagus. And it reminds
me something I've been wondering. What would have happened if Harry
had told Lupin about seeing a black dog? He did consider telling Lupin
once. Lupin would have realized immediately it had been Sirius and
what would he do then? Would that force him to go to Dumbledore?
Or would he go out alone hunting for the black dog? I always feel
that he wanted to confront Sirius and question him about the past.

My feeling exactly. I think that it's a bit like the frightening
calmness Dumbledore showed during his interrogation of
Barty Crouch jr. in GoF.

Good to know I'm not the only one feeling kind of sorry for Peter.
Somehow I can't imagine James and Sirius making friend with a total
opportunist. There had to be something good in Peter back in their
school days? It just doesn't seem possible to me that such a close
friendship was formed just becaues Peter kept following them around
seeking protection. Sometimes people makes one wrong step and
kept sinking deeper and deeper and after a while, survival becomes
the only concern. I feel that it's kind of tragic.
Is there *anyone* who suspected Scabber not being a rat?! I was
totally stunned.
