I'm with you on that, Amy.  Neville deserves some recognition for the 
good kid he really is.  I have made no bones about the fact that I 
absolutely adore Harry (I do, in case anyone wasn't sure), but I don't 
want him to be a prefect, and I don't think Harry would want to be a 
prefect either.  If we just look at Harry as a student, he isn't 
anything special.  Why should he be a prefect?  Because his parents 
were Head Boy & Girl?  Because he's famous Harry Potter?  That isn't 
fair- to Harry and to other students who are worthy of being prefects.  
Harry would like nothing better than to sit in the back of the room 
with Ron having duels with their wands-turned-rubber chickens.  I also 
think Harry has more than enough to deal with right now.

Unfortunately, I don't know if JKR agrees with me and we may see Harry 
as the next Gryffindor prefect.

LOL!  But boy, would I love to try out that prefects' bathroom tub 
with my boyfriend... oh, excuse me.  I digress.
