I don't think there is going to be some sort of
Armageddon at the end. It's a children's book after
all. (I wonder if no one buys it, we might be
ghoulishly dissapointed, LOL). However, if I had to
have my pick:
Dumbledore is certain to buy it. However, I think it
will happen near the end of the series: it would be
too much of a switch to the book structure to have
someone else as headmaster.
I doubt either Sirius or Remus would die. Someone on
another list said that they already had their
tragedies, and I agree. Both had really miserable
lives, it would be pretty unfair to have them die
without any happy period in life. Also, it would bring
his parents' death back to Harry. This is especially
true in Sirius case, since he is the surrogate father
figure to Harry. I doubt JKR'd torture poor Harry this
much.
If one of the Weasleys has to die, it will be Percy.
At least I hope so, since he's the least favorite of
mine.
As to Snape: the probability is high (double agent),
but somehow, I don't see it. Yoo Sidney Cartonish
melodramatic perhaps.
No question, Voldie and Pettigrew are both dead meat
by the end.
