Here is how Remus explains the Wolfsbane Potion in PoA: "It makes me
safe, you see. As long as I take it in the week, preceding the full
moon, I keep my mind when I transform.... I'm able to curl up in my
office, a harmless wolf, and wait for the moon to wane again."

According to that quote, the Potion does not stop him from TRANSFORMING.

I WISH I knew whether he's supposed to take the Potion each day for a
week, or just once or twice during that week...

On another tentacle, I have been reading that explanation in PoA over
and over just now, and I can't find any quote to support my belief that
the transformation begins at sunset or moonrise and ends at sunrise or
moonset (I have been assured that at Full Moon, the Moon is not up
during Day).

I can find quotes to support that he is a wolf during at least one night
each month, because the Marauders roam the grounds in animal form at
night every month, but that would also work if he transforms for 24
hours starting at whatever specified time as the list members are
suggesting...

If one month, he transforms in the daytime, he just waits for night and
his friends to join him, and when the night is over, he waits to
transform back. If another month, he transforms at night, the kids romp
for the rest of that night, then he waits one day and part of a night to
transform back.

At least one time, he transformed AROUND sunset: "Snape had seen me
crossing the grounds with Madam Pomfrey one evening as she led me toward
the Whomping Willow to transform..... if he'd got as far as this house,
he'd have met a fully grown werewolf..." That is, in the EVENING he was
human as he went to the Shack, and soon after, by the time Snape came
after him, he had transformed.

He could have transformed on purpose to give the baby a stag-back ride.

She is very clever, but I wish I knew whether it is possible for an
Animagus to become a magical animal, or only a normal animal. Owls
appear to have Owl Magic to deliver mail; does that make them magical
animals?

This list is FULL of people who're in love with dear Severus. Me, I'm
not in love with Severus, I'm just writing a mushy romance about him.

PERSONAL RISKS (Snapefic by R.J. Anderson) depicts Snape taking 100
points from Slytherin (his own House!) from Maudie because Maudie broke
some rules to save Snape's life.

Snape. I'm sure he was a Slytherin -- among other things, I'm sure that
only an alumnus of a House is allowed to be Head of that House.

Anyway, just because Millicent is big and ugly and violent, and Pansy
might be ugly, and Flint is big and ugly and violent and cheats at
Quidditch, doesn't prove they're not good at doing spells and potions.
