IMO, the Harry Potter books are one of those rare pieces of
literature that can't be pidgeon-holed into one category. It has
intergenerational appeal.

I do think children enjoy the books equally as adults but on a
different level of comprehension. A couple of years ago, I decided
that I would re-read all the books I read as a child, to see if they
still had their appeal. Some of them I thought "UGH! What did I see
in that book?" Others I thought "Wow! I didn't realize that before!"

I'm guessing that if the children fans of the Potter books were to re-
read 10 or 15 years from now they will exclaim "Wow! I didn't realize
that before!"
