This has been discussed before.  Someone pointed out that Gringotts 
may work sort of like a Swiss bank.  In other words, no questions 
asked. If you have the info you need -- a number, a key, a signature, 
whatever -- you get your money.  This is why criminals and spies put 
their money in Swiss bank accounts.

The wizard justice system is clearly a lot less formal than its 
muggle counterpart; perhaps the same is true of the wizard banking 
system.
