Why did we start reading the books?

No big story behind how I read the series, just decided to see what 
the fuss was about and got hooked. I told my husband I thought he'd 
like the books, he said "yeah, yeah." I kept recommending, he kept 
avoiding the subject, so I did what I always do when I want him to 
read something. I left the first book in the bathroom. The day it 
took him 2 hours to come out I knew he'd started it. He's just 
finished his second reading of all 4 (although now he reads mostly on 
the couch . . .)
