I think that Mrs. Weasley, being about my age, is prone to CRS...
Can't Remember ... ummm ... Stuff.
As for Ron's brothers telling him about the Sorting Hat, indeed, they
did:
"So we've just got to try on the hat!" Ron whispered to
Harry. "I'll kill Fred, he was going on about wrestling a troll."
As most older siblings do, Ron's older brothers liked to put him on
and tell him "their version" of life at Hogwarts.
