Yes...it's sort of irritating...however, I don't think the Gryffindor
tunnel-vision will last much longer.
It's been established that for the most part, Hogwarts students spend the
majority of their time with their own house. You eat with them, sleep with
them, go to class with them, and spend all your free time in the common room
with them. So it's not at all surprising that Harry's world is dominated by
the big G.
It's also been established that although the books are written in the third
person, we are seeing events unfold from Harry's POV. Except for during a
Quidditch match his first year, Harry is present in every scene of every
book. And so it makes sense that we don't see much of the other houses, and
that what we DO see is somewhat biased.
However, as Harry begins to mature, so will his perspective. Just as
winning house points and beating Slytherin in quidditch will no longer seem
as desperately important as they once did, so will Harry begin to pay more
attention to the world beyond Gryffindor tower. He'll see that not all
Gryffindors are good, that not all Slytherin's are evil, and that maybe
things aren't as simple as they seemed to be when he was 11-years-old.
at least...that's what I think... ^_-;;
