It seems that some of the vampires are part-human so I imagine they 
would be affected by the AK curse.  From the reaction of Dumbledore 
when he sent Snape on his mission, Snape is not immune to harm.  
That's why I believe Snape is some different type of vampire other 
than what we are use to seeing or he is just 'special' in some other 
way.
