Reading the books:
I started reading the books because I was assigned the
first two for Children's lit. I didn't have to buy any
other ones, because the teacher didn't want us to have
to buy hardbacks. But I had extra money on me after
buying my books and SS only cost me 15 bucks (the
Barnes and Noble discount plus, I think, a discount
because it was the school bookstore).
Man, I tore through that book. And we didn't have to
read it till April. I read the first one three times
until Spring Break, when I got the money for the other
four, all hardback. (Good thing it only cost me about
45 bucks.) Then I bought QA with money I earned and FB
was bought by my mom for me.
Muggle Borns and accepting it:
I haven't really thought about it, but I'm thinking
that the parents are visited by either the teachers or
another family. Or maybe there's a department in the
Muggle liason area (What's that department? I forget)
that deals with nothing but muggle-born wizards and
their adjustment. I think I'll take that approach in
my fic. As for the letters, I think they're delivered
by owl (And scare/shock/unnerver the parents) and have
an additional note inside that explains that a member
of the ministry will be there to speak to them and
explain the situation.
