Since the release dates are goin to be the same for both the British
and American editions, this would not be fishy. Whatever stage they
are in at Bloomsbury, Scholastic's editors would have to be kept
abreast of the book's progress, since that will profoundly affect
their workflow.
I can't remember where I read this, but apparently the work involved
in putting out GoF by the projected deadline was positively epic, and
Scholastic effectively tabled a lot of otehr projects in order to
manage it.
What does surprise me a little is that a Scholastic employee not
directly involved in the project would know much about what is
happening. Aren't they supposed to be very secretive about all of
this? maybe things are relaxing a bit.
