In Australia, I don't think it's an issue.  The only section of the 
community that I think would complain are the fundamental christian 
groups (and everyone else ingores them).  IIRC some schools have 
banned the books from the school yard but I think that is because the 
kids end up reading and talking about the books and not paying any 
attention to their lessons.  

Now, you must remember that Australian's are cynical.  We laugh at 
Americans and Brits, and if someone is being too much of a prick we 
simply tell them to 'blow it out your arse' and walk away.
