Okay (puts on her Children's Guild Teacher hat) short
lesson for Joywitch. How animal skins become cloth.

1st- You take the skin of the animal (or you just
shear the animal, most commenly sheep, llama, and
other domesticated animals with long hair).

2nd- You take the fleece and wash it, and wash it, and
wash it again to get all the oils and dirt and other
icky stuff out of the fleece.

3rd- Then you take these combs that look like they
have hundreds of little straight pins stuck in it
point side up and you comb the fleece out until it's
all clean and fluffy.

4th- Then you take a spinning wheel (or a drop
spindle) and you twist all the fleece together into a
really long thread.

5th- You take all the thread you have made with your
fleece and you set up a weaving loom and weave all the
thread into cloth.

6th- You take the cloth and you make clothing out of
it.

(Taking off her hat now) And this very long
explaination IMHO is very likely the reason that FB
just says you take the pelts and use them to weave
Invisability Cloaks. After who wants to read all
about making cloth when you are supposed to be reading
about fabulous beasts?

Danette
Who may of gone a little OT with this but didn't want
a confused Joywitch since it might interfer with her
fabulous contest making abilities. :D
