His Grandmother and uncle need all of the help that
they can get! Neville has got to do better his life
may depend on it and Snape knows this better than
anyone. Besides, he has to keep his cover if he is
supposed to be a DE he can't very well, be seen
codling Neville(or HArry for that matter). He would
treat them miserably, just like he's doing. Dumbledore
knows more than we give him credit for I can't believe
that he would stand by and LET Snape damage his
pupils. There has to be a good reason for him putting
up with this type of behaviour.
