I agree with Suzanne that Hagrid made a good start with the
Hippogriff lesson -- in addition he's also quite competent when he
takes back the reins from substitute Professor Grubbly-Plank in
GoF 26:
"It turned out that Hagrid knew quite as much about unicorns as he
did about monsters, though it was clear that he found their lack of
poisonous fangs dissappointing."
Maybe Hagrid's missed his calling and should be teaching Care Of
Monstrous Creatures With Fangs, Tentacles, Pincers and Stings Rated
XXXXX And Above.
