Point taken. (Or perhaps with the situation what it is, they've merely
decided they could be more highly paid in the private sector...)

It does not seem unrealistic to me. It has been established that there
are something like 13 subjects (that we know of - there may be more)
being taught at Hogwarts, and there is obviously a very small
student/teacher ratio if all the students in one year in two houses can
be taught in the same class at the same time. With this in mind, it
seems unlikely there would be more than one teacher per subject,
otherwise, each individual instructor would have only a few classes per
week each. (And speaking from personal experience, at a very small
school it is not at all unusual to have classes with the same
instructor from the first year to the last. It creates a kind of
continuity that cannot be found in larger, more impersonal
institutions. My thanks to the other person who pointed this out, as
well.)
