Lily is a seer? Someone mentioned this in a list of "Things we know
for sure". And it raised some very good questions. Did any watch
The Mists of Avalon on TNT a couple of weeks ago(U.S. HP fans only I
suppose)? Igraine, Morgaine, and Viviane ... that is how I see a
seer. While at times they could see the future, or feel what is
going on in the present in other places, they could not see
everything. Viviane did not see what damage coupling Arthur and
Morgaine would do to both Camelot and Avalon, but she saw what good
it would do. Being a Seer doesn't mean that at all times you knwo
what is going to happen to you and everyone around you. Really, how
boring would life be if you knew what was going to happen next? So
it is feasible that while Lily (if she was a Seer) was able to see
that they were in grave danger and that they needed to use the
Fidelius Charm, she was not able to see the circumstances that would
bring the ultimate in grave danger. Make sense?

I like the "DE's are connected to Voldie and if he dies, then they
die" theory, but I don't think I buy it. Voldie says that it is the
mark of a DE and it was how he called them to him. I think he said
he called the DE's to him by touching a mark on a DE. Does he
actually have to have a DE present to do this? Or can he just think
about the Dark Mark and make it burn on the DE's and they know where
to find him? If this were the case, how weak was he that he couldn't
even think the Dark Mark to burn and have the DE's come and find him
and save him? And also, if having the mark burned on your arm means
that if Voldie dies, you die, why wouldn't all the DE's have been
that close to death when VOldie was?

Still with me? Prof. Dumbledore told Harry that Fawkes donated one
of his tail feathers to be used as a wand core. IIRC, he only said
Fawkes gave 1 tail feather. How many wand cores can you make out of
1 tail feather? Obviously, at least 2, but why and how? I suppose I
need a course on wand construction now (screw building construction,
that'll only save my life) but how big (girth-wise) is a wand? And
since I have never seen a pheonix before (ok, dumb question time, do
they really exist on Planet Earth these days? or was that just a
wicked cool legend? <look, I'm a firefighter, not a genius or a bird
expert>), I couldn't tell you how long their tail feathers get.
Let's say that you can make 2 wand cores out of 1 pheonix tail
feather (which obviously you can, but we already covered that), why
would such an evil person end up with a wand with a core made from a
bird that is so obviously good? Fawkes saved Harry's life, healed
him multiple times, and *I* think it was Fawkes' song that Harry
heard while Priori Incatatum'ing with Voldie. How did he let his
tail be used for evil?

Almost done. Wouldn't it be an ironic twist of fate if Harry really
was a direct descendant of Slytherin? I think that would be
comical. :)

ANd last but not least ... do actual writing assignments for a class
count toward the writing portion of the entrance exam? And where
exactly does one find a computer not connected to the internet?
Antique stores? <grin>

Have a wonderful weekend everyone and thanks for reading, if you made
it this far, and if you didn't, well, fine, be that way, I won't read
all of your posts! :)

Michelle :)
