Unable to wait twelve hours until the end of my shift
and much to the amusement of my colleagues I just
phoned my other half and asked him to read out the
relevant chapter and I concur that the passage does
not specify two feathers.

However it does state that ' ... each of them (Harry's
and Voldemorts wands) contains a feather from the same
phoenix.'

The fact that it says 'a feather' implies that each
wand contains a whole feather;)

This is another good question. How many other Fawkes
filled wands are there running around out there.

Actually I like the second possiblity as much as the
first. It suggests a slightly closer bond between the
two.
