I notice no one has responded to Angela's question about which
interview this was so I figured I'd ask again. I am also quite
curious, see, because I, too, thought I had read all the available JKR
interviews and yet do not remember this explicitly being said. If
there is something I have missed than I would dearly love to read it.

Also, regarding that "if she was a seer why couldn't she save them"
thing, people have already said that seers can't control what they see
so I won't repeat it (oh wait, I just did <sheepish grin>). And
furthermore, if Fudge's word is to be believed (another thing about
that Authorial Theory of Misinformation) than we can say Lily did not
forsee Voldemort coming after them--in PA10, Fudge says they we're
tipped off by one of Dumbledore's spies (Snape, perhaps?). So if
Fudge is right than this is not one of the things Lily foresaw. Of
course, she could have foreseen other things maybe (like Peter's
betrayal), perhaps that is more what people were referring to anyway.
In that case, it is back to the "seers can't control what they see"
comment which is of course the main truth anyway.
