Yes to the first, no to the second! Sir C is a little too unbalanced
for me, pun intended. I'd like to ride the pony, though. ;-)

Having the paintings on your side would be a very good thing. They
are a terrific way to get information from one room to another. I
could see a situation in which someone is locked up but the paintings
are still able to move and get the word out. But since V knows what
they can do, if he invaded Hogwarts he'd do well to burn all the
paintings first thing, perish the thought.
Maybe the paintings will line up on one side or the other of this war.
I wouldn't trust that portrait of Slytherin as far as I could throw
it, assuming there *is* a portrait of Slytherin somewhere in the
castle.
