I am going to come out here again as a true LOON, and mention
something which has bothered me for a while. Everyone talks about
Crouch's bones, due to the fact he was transfigured into one. This
is my point - we do not have "his" bones - he was transfigured
into "a" bone - subtle difference, I know, but I think it could be
important to this issue.

Another thing which bothers me about this is that it is the wrong way
around. Voldemort was always alive - he had his soul, but not his
body. Crouch has his body, but not his soul. This
spell/potion/whatever, can provide the soul with its body again, not
the other way round. Barty Crouch's soul is lost, therefore I do not
see how this could possibly work.

Finally, even supposing the above was possible, there are two other
stumbling blocks. Firstly, someone, such as Voldemort would have to
care enough to want to revive Barty Crouch, as BCJ would be unable to
do this for himself. Secondly, although the bone could be
transfigured back into BCS's body, and thereby access his bones,
there is still the problem of flesh of the faithful servant. Where
is this going to come from - it seems to me that coercion would not
necessarily work here, supposing someone could be found to do this.
Is it being suggested that Winky, who probably still retains some
feelings of loyalty to the Crouch family, if not to BCJ himself,
might be tempted/forced into doing so. I doubt it somehow.

All this leads me to believe that this theory is a bit of a
nonsense. Sorry Mecki - I know you were one of the first (if not the
first, I can't remember) to put this forward, but I don't think it's
very plausible. Feel free to rip everything I've said to shreds!

Catherine
