IIRC the main concourse is mostly enclosed but you can see through the glass doors to the traffic in the street outside.

The main trouble is that that is Euston Road, a main thoroughfare, and you would drop passengers round at the side (York Road, IIRC).  Think of the FFA in a quiet side street - though York Rd isn't *that* quiet - nowhere is, round there.

It's just possible that Harry would see the Ds drive past a door from inside, but it's not really how that passage sounds.

Various other people have commented on the looseness of JKR's interpretation of KX in connection with the barrier at 9.75.
