Voldemort had no idea what was happening. He didn't know the wands
shared cores. Harry, at least, knew that. Also, they could hear the
phoenix song. In FB, it says something like the song of the phoenix
strengthens the Good and gives the Evil the collywobbles. Thus
Voldemort was distracted.
I believe that Harry intuited that the bead of light touching his own
wand would be a 'bad thing' and acted thusly. Voldemort wasn't quite
sure what his own reaction should be, so he couldn't stop it.
