Well of course the King Stag does have major mythological significance
and represents the Horned God.....

Let's see, stags, stags...

Hmmm..masks of incarnate deities were often those
of horned animals, bulls, goats, stags. Horns were connected with the
oldest Tantric believe concerning male vitality.
There was Actaeon the stag..THAT's not a good omen
was Seigried a stag?
