But is it really disappointment? Harry certainly thinks it is, but
Harry often makes assumptions that are later proved wrong.
We also assume that the Valentine Harry receives in CoS is from
Ginny - I'm of the opinion that it wasn't. Her discomfort in that
scene (which Harry interpreted as embarassment over the Valentine) is
later revealed to be fear over discovering that Harry had the diary.
The only person who says definitively that the Valentine was from
Ginny is Draco, and why should we believe him?
Then again, I like to think that there's quite a bit more going on
under the surface with Ginny than we've seen thus far. I've got a few
pet theories - but the bottom line is that Harry sees Ginny as "Ron's
kid sister with a crush on him" and interprets all her actions
accordingly. Whether he's right remains to be seen. ^_^
