Just a thought:  hasn't Ron's hand ever pointed to "mortal peril"?  He has 
been in a fair amount of dangerous situations.  Wouldn't Mrs. Weasley have 
noticed?  I presume Ginny's hand pointed to "mortal peril" when Tom Riddle 
took her prisoner.  I wonder if the Weasleys knew about that before 
Dumbledore contacted them (as I presume he did).
