I suspect this is the case. I had brought up some months ago that as of
the end of PoA, Snape was still operating under the honest belief that
Sirius was not only an old loathed enemy, but a dangerous murderer and
follower of Voldemort. However, when Dumbledore has Sirius reveal
himself to Snape at the end of GoF, Snape's reaction is only one of
loathing. He reacts to the old enemy, but not to an escaped, murdering
DeathEater. So clearly Snape has been clued in "offscreen" by
Dumbledore, and I'd imagine by extension that others of Dumbledore's
close circle have been similarly clued in.
