It still doesn't sit well with me because Harry first sees Pig when 
Ron sends the note that they will be coming to get him whether the 
Muggles like it or not. Though he doesn't know its name yet, he still 
acts like he has no idea who it is.

No matter, I just had that in my head and hadn't been able to work it 
out to my satisfaction. Thanks for the replies!
