Maybe the House Prefects act as Resident Assistants, in the US 
University sense. In my college, we had RAs(resident assistants) who 
were undergraduate students and we had RCs (resident coordinators) who 
were graduate students and were the liasons between the Dean of 
Students and the dorm system.
