Yes, let's remember that the present-day schooling system wasn't
produced with the sole purpose of educating children. Part of
the goal was to get them off the streets and out of the
workforce; public schooling goes along with child labor laws and
the like. (And the main reason our school systems have a
=summer= vacation is that the big exception to the ban on child
labor was farming families -- who needed every hand they could
get during the summer.)
Would wizarding society have these same concerns? I doubt it.
(They'd have =different= ones.)
