Possible though that Dumbledore knew about it all this time.  He's 
been shown to do that at least once already. He's also been shown to 
sort of be affectionately indulgent of James Potter. And Harry's 
situation is much, much worse. 

He might think Harry needs every possible advantage he can get.

But you never know.

Somehow I don't see Hermione really participating. She has broken some 
rules willingly but not happily.

 And the Marauders Map is all about breaking rules.
