And equally we have no reason to believe that Lucius will not be redeemed.
Basically this is all up in the air. With the possible exception of
Voldemort any of the 'bad' side could be redeemed.

And on the other side of the coin any of the 'good' side could go bad. Yes
even Harry, though where that would leave the canon is anyone's guess!
