into some sort of vamp because a boy/man decides to notice her and 'clean 
her up'.

Hermione is smart, she isn't pretty, and yet she gets romantic attention 
from Krum [and possibly Ron]. That part of the book made me grin like an 
asshole. Right on, JKR!
