I disagree with that. JKR has said on numerous occasions that she 
WON'T change the books to suit her fans. She's had this story (and 
the characters) planned for some time. The 5th book will have a 
female DADA teacher because that is what JKR planned, not because 
people have been asking for more strong female characters "like it's 
a side order of chips" (JKR quote).

I can see both sides of the story, but I have to say that I don't 
think it's quantity, I think it's quality. While women may account 
for only 13% of the major HP characters, the ones we have are pretty 
good, I think.
