I think it's more the emotions at the moment rather than true personality.
Using your example:

Which is an emotion at that particular instance, not a personality trait.

Er, magic <g>.  Although if he's in hair rollers, he must have been damn
comfortable and feeling very relaxed and at home (most people I know
wouldn't be in hair rollers in front of company...).
