My response first: 
We know Percy has broken rules [as alot of teenagers do] for physical 
attention [love?]. While Harry and Ron were transformed into Crabbe 
and Goyle they ran into a Ravenclaw down in the dungeon area. Shortly 
after they ran into Percy. Although neither should have been down 
there I dismissed the connection between the two. Harry recognized 
her in the hospital as "the girl we ran into". Even Prefects break 
rules for attention [love?].     

I think Percy will stand by his family when it really counts. Even if 
he does make mistakes.
