Perhaps the question should be: Are they coloured permanently?

Because we do see that Harry has strong opinions about people like
Cedric and Snape and they influence how he feels about and deals with
them. But if he's wrong, we find out at the same time he does
(within the same book) and the impressions are corrected.

I can't detect an example of Harry completely misreading someone that
will have to be corrected in Books 5,6,7. Unless Dumbledore turns
out to be working for the Other Side in which case all bets are off.

I have a suggestion about Snape's task: what if he's brewing up some
Polyjuice Potion so he can impersonate - not Crouch or Moody - but
Dumbledore himself. That way Dumbledore can be at Hogwarts and at
the same time go off to meet with other wizards, giants, etc. in the
battle against V.
