Exactly. I think that Voldy didn't completely think through his "Kill
Harry Potter" campaign in the four books. Harry's in pain when
Quirrell with his Voldy-head transplant grabs him. Does Voldy feel
that pain too? Because if he did, killing Harry might kil him. But now
that Harry and Voldy are more or less separated, Harry might be able
to kill Voldy without hurting himself (Dumbledore's fleeting look of
triumph).
