I've been giving this one some thought, and I came up
with this. One, Barty Crouch, Jr. couldn't be sure
Imperious would be a key thing with Harry. How was he
to know Voldy was going to play with Harry first and
not just use Ak at the first oppertunity? (Granted
this is a bit of a stretch, given the DE's history
with Imperious.) Two, BC, Jr. spent _years_ living
under the Imperious Curse. He eventually learned to
beat it. I wonder if he didn't take a cewrtain
pleasure in teaching someone else to beat it, too.
Sort of another way of rebelling against his father.
BC, Jr. seems to have spent a lot of time rebelling
against his father, after all.
