I found it! This is the passage that was confusing me-

"He, Harry, had broken the wizard law just like Sirius Black. Was 
inflating Aunt Marge bad enough to land him in Azkaban? Harry didn't 
know anything about the wizard prison, though everyone he'd ever 
heard speak of it did so in the same fearful tone.  Hagrid the 
Hogwarts gamekeeper, had spend two months there only last year..."

Is this what you were thinking of Amy? I was so sick at the time that 
I guess I didn't remember it clearly. Then again it might just be my 
bad memory. 

But I was so sure...
