Well, how about this for the Snape/Lily fans? Lord V. promised Snape
that he wouldn't kill Lily because it was Snape's price for helping
him with potions or whatever.
I still think that Snape was the spy who warned Dumbledore what was
going to happen but Snape might want to hedge his bets, as it were.
