I know what you mean.  In a way it would be just so incredibly funny 
if JKR let evil truimph over good.  End of book 7:  Harry is dead, 
Dumbledore is dead, Voldemort has triumphed and is running the world, 
Bush is president (oh, wait, thats a different universe), everyone 
lives unhappily ever after.  Could you imagine how shocked everyone 
would be?  It would be on the front page of every newspaper in the 
world!  Of course, JKR would have to live the rest of her live in 
seclusion, with armed guards.
