You can also look at the differences between Cedric and Harry when faced with 
the dragons. Harry boldly mounted his broom and flew right at the dragon. At 
times, he was just inches from being scorched. Cedric, OTOH, had that 
complicated transfiguration spell with the rock/dog, and still had to run 
towards the dragon (a combination of both hard work and courage).
