In my opinion, JRK does believe that good will triumph....

But there is a little bit of the deus ex machina element in the 
Narnia chronicles..that in fact, Aslan (or Jesus or Arthur) will 
return and redeem the world. This does not trivialize the struggle or 
suffering of human beings.....
