Boggarts and names

I've just been re-reading PoA and I've got a little query about boggarts.

When the boggart turns into a Dementor, it has the Dementor's abilities to feed
off Harry's emotions. Yet, when it becomes a moon in response to Lupin, he
remains a human so the boggart evidently doesn't take on the moon's powers.

Anybody have any explanation?

This also started me wondering how any parent could call their son Remus Lupin and
not worry about potential werewolf complications! (I also think Peeves knows
Lupin's a werewolf, hence the "loony, loopy Lupin" comments. Loony developed as a
term for insanity because it was believed to be related to the lunar phases.) In
turn, this led to me musing over the various names in HP and how they relate to
personalities. As well as the obvious Sirius and Sibyl, there's the slightly more
subtle Hermione. I'm probably the last person on the list to realise this but
there are a couple of parallels to Queen Hermione from The Winter's Tale. Queen
Hermione was turned into/pretended to be a statue (depending on your reading of
the play) for fifteen years or so and Hermione, of course, is petrified by the
basilisk. By being statue-ified, both Hermiones provide the basis for the
associated characters to realise certain truths.
