Hi !

MY little daughter instisted upon wearing a yellow T-shirt yesterday
with the word "I know it's not summer, but this is my very very
favorite colour!" Of course I know she loves yellow ( the walls in her
room, her plate, her kids chair, simply everything had to be yellow
for four years in a row now<g> ) but that got me thinking all night.-
the kids refused to let me sleep once more:

Ron complains in PS " Every year she makes us a jumper. And mine is
always maroon!"
Later on, we learn that this is right and, more important, that Ron
really hates this colour. And the socks and robes he gets are from
this hated colour too.

Even if I understand Molly has a lot of trouble with 5 kids, she
surely can remember one single colour one of her sons dislikes!!

As much as I like Molly, I think this shows she does not love Ron as
much as the others. Choosing this colour has nothing to do with being
poor. The other Weasleys get their hand-knitted jumpers in bright
colours, only Ron's is always as gloomy as he feels within his family.

so either she is being cruel ( after 14 years it is IMO not just lack
of attention!) on purpose or there must be a reason for Ron to be
dressed in maroon to come in later books!!??
I believe this is possible, because JKR mentions the "maroon- thing"
in every book. Is it a hint?
Or is Molly not kind-natured as we always thought and Ron is right
feeling he is just "One son too much"

Any opinions?
Mecki
