I think that perhaps he usually does go to the Burrow. That year Arthur and
Molly just took a nice little trip to visit their son where he works and
presumably lives

I love Pince's characterization! It gives the characters a reason to have a
hard time in the library. Madam Pince actually does remind me of a librarian
I know

He probably beat his siblings all the time and they stopped playing with him
^_^. We know Percy plays chess, he tris to "help" Harry in SS/PS and it was
either Bill or Charlie who played chess with Ron at the Burrow in GoF

The Weasleys just do not strike me as the type to ignore a child. In the
movie Ron *does* have a letter and if this were an important element JKR
would not have let that happen.

ARGH! No accusing my Percy of bad things! Maybe it was just hinting at his
win of his bet with Penelope in PoA

I think that the stone was already in the mirror then. Harry didn't see it
because he didn't want it then and Quirrel wouldn't think of searching the
school for the stone when he "knows" it's under the trapdoor

Because he has enough books and the castle is drafty ;)
