Moody(Crouch) Teaching DADA

hey.. I have a question...
 
Why was Moody (Crouch) so happy that Harry showed he was unable to 
resist the Imperious (sp?)Curse?  This seems a little odd to me since 
he isn't really wanting people to be able to disobey his master's 
will.  I have a couple of theories... but I'm interested in what 
other people think...
 
Theory 1- He wants to prove to the world that the Death Eaters who 
claimed they had no choice but to follow Voldemort were lying and 
just using it as an excuse to avoid imprisonment.
 
Theory 2- He was trying to strengthen Harry to ensure he would win 
the Triwizard Tournament.
 
Neither of these really seems to satisfy me.  Harry is the only 
person to ever survive the Avada Kedavra curse and probably one of 
very few who were able to prevail against Voldemort, ever.  Why would 
Crouch train Harry to be able to further overcome Voldemort's power?
