When Harry and Ron are Polyjuiced and on their way to the Slytherin
common room in CoS, they run into Penelope as she's coming up the
stairs from the dungeons, and they mistake her for a Slytherin and
ask her for directions (gee, that doesn't look suspicious <g>). She
indignantly tells them that she is a Ravenclaw. Then, when they are
in the corridor in the dungeons, Percy is seen emerging from a room
down there, and he speaks to them briefly. We only discover later,
when Penelope is Petrified, that that's who the girl was. Clearly P
& P had some place in the dungeons where they were able to have
trysts. Percy was very snippy with Ron and Harry (he thought it was
Crabbe and Goyle). I think he was afraid they suspected what was
really going on, but then Percy's guilty conscience also made him
think that when Ginny was trying to tell Ron and Harry about the
diary.
